New York City visit

Semana passada passamos em Nova York trabalhando. Mas, tivemos a oportunidade de rever amigos e família!

Domingo, jantamos no Brooklyn na casa da Maude (não há via fazem 7 anos!!) e do Daniel (seu marido que conheci pela primeira vez - uma simpatia!). O Phil os conheceu pela primeira vez. Nos divertimos!

Durante a semana fomos ao um "Art Crawl" (recebemos um mapa e um bracelete passeiamos pelas galerias de arte) e jantar no Soho com o Josh ex-colega da Edelman.

E na quinta-feira encontrei com a minha prima Andrea, tia Alda e seu marido Celso pra um lanche e passeio o no Union Square.

This past week we were working from New York city and we had the opportunity to see some friends and family!

Sunday, we had dinner at Maude (I haven't seen her for 7 years!!) and Daniel's (her husband that we've met for the first time - cool guy!) home in Brooklyn. Phil met them both for the first time. We had fun!

During the week we participated of a "Art Crawl" and dinner in Soho with Josh, ex-Edelman colleague.

And Thursday I went with my cousin Andrea, aunt Alda and her husband Celso for lunch at Union Square.

Voltamos! | We're are back!

Pois é...estamos de volta em Chicago depois de quase um mês viajando! Você pode checar muitas e muitas fotos que eu tirei no Rio (daqui a pouco as do Phil também).

O Phil fez uns videos da apresentação da turma de pandeiro da minha irmã Clarice (ela e a professora!). Foi filmado na feira da General Glicério em Laranjeiras, Rio de Janeiro, onde a Clarice toca com o "Choro na Feira" todos os sábados de manhã.

That's right, we're back in Chicago after almost a month out traveling! You can check out many, many, many pictures I took in Rio (soon Phil's too).

Phil made a couple of videos of my sister Clarice's tamborine class during a performance. (She's the teacher!). This was filmed at the street fair where Clarice plays every Saturday morning.

Our Honeymoon In Galena

Leticia just uploaded a photoset of our honeymoon trip to Galena, Illinois.

We stayed at the most excellent Farmer's Guest House B&B, lovingly restored and maintained by Jess and Kathie Farlow.

Restaurants enjoyed include Fried Green Tomatoes (Italian), Fritz & Frites (German/French fusion), Durty Gurt's (hamburgers), and Benjamin's (bar & grill).

Also spent quite a bit of time reading and relaxing at Kaladi's Coffee Bar.

And, of course, who could forget Kandy Kitchen?

Taking advantage of Jess and Kathie's prodigious DVD collection (dwarfed only by Jess's academic-scale knowledge and library of jazz), we watched:

• Boys Don't Cry -  De-feminizing Hilary Swank strikes one as kind of difficult.
• Million Dollar Baby - Oh, wait... Never mind...
• The Number 23 - Leticia and I were married on Nov. 3, or 11/3. 1+1 = 2. Ergo: 23. We were born in 1974. Going from inside-out, 9-7 = 2 and 4-1 = 3 -- 23 again. Wikipedia has more on the 23 enigma.
• Knocked Up - An IMDB user sums it up well: "Vulgar, but certainly not stupid."
• Zodiac - Wow... Robert Downey, Jr. playing a drugged-out alcoholic. Reminded of when Sir Laurence Olivier told Dustin Hoffman "Why not try acting?" on the set of Marathon Man. Look for Downey to play fictional industrialist Tony Stark in Iron Man. (In the comic, which I devoured as a kid, Stark became an alcoholic.) See a pattern?
• Secondhand Lions - History will likely remember Michael Caine as one of the best all-time actors, guaranteed.

Back to reality, such as it is, on Jan. 2.

Visita do Phil a São Paulo

O Phil esta de volta nos Estados Unidos depois de 3 dias no Brasil, em São Paulo. Quarta-feira ele jantou com clientes, quinta-feira deu um seminário o dia todo na ABERJE (Associação Brasileira de Comunicação Empresarial). E na sexta-feira o pessoal da  Edelman São Paulo organizou um encontro com jornalistas e blogueiros para ele com direito a um tour de onibus e pic-nic no Ibirapuera! Techbits, LadyBug, Tecnocracia e Edelman do Brasil (blogueiros brasileiros) contam a sua experiência no evento.

Pena que não deu pra dar um pulinho no Rio. Ele voltou direto para Filadélfia, onde vai dar uma palestra no PRSA (Public Relations Society of America). Chega em Chicago domingo a noite.

I just got back from our annual father/son fishing trip to Kennedy Meadows.

As I was collecting the 380-odd photos snapped from this trip, I realized that I never got around to uploading the photos from last year.
