I understand that my advice must be taken, therefore, with a grain of salt. But I have hired hundreds of people in my 31 years in the business, many of whom I took straight from college (examples: Matt Harrington, now President of Edelman US and Russ Dubner, now manager of Edelman’s 500 person NY office).
